Often people come to Montana hoping to see Northern Lights. We have plenty of wide open spaces, and our northern latitude does give us some advantage over locations such as Utah or Arizona, for example. Northern Lights are bucket list item for many Montana residents and visitors.
In May 2024 we were treated to quite the show!
We also learned that if you put your phone camera in “night” mode it can see colors your eye cannot.
There are many apps and sites you can use to track when Northern Lights might be visible.
